Welcoming Dan to the team

Dan Fine
Head of Customer Success & Sales

The biggest news this winter isn't a feature. Dan Fine has joined us as Head of Customer Success & Sales. His job is to work out how each business gets the most out of Petboost, whether you're brand new or have been with us for years, and make sure that shows up in your day to day.

That only comes from time spent inside real businesses. Frazer co-owns a hydrotherapy and boutique daycare himself, and even then we still learn something new every week.

Now the product. This is a big catch-up: everything we've shipped since our autumn round-up, across May, June & July. The headliners first, then a long list more.

1. Memberships, fully launched

Now on every plan. Bundle included services and member discounts into recurring plans, price for multi-pet households, and let owners buy and manage their own from the portal. Stripe collects billing automatically on every renewal.

  • Benefit redemption at checkout. Included services & discounts apply automatically when you take payment or raise an invoice.
  • Plan categories to group and filter once you offer several.
  • Multi-pet billing, add or remove pets from an active plan any time.
  • Terms & conditions: attach a PDF and have members sign at enrolment, migrated members included.
  • Lifecycle notifications: automatic welcome, renewal and pause/cancel messages, previewable per plan.
  • Card on file for manual enrolments, plus archive & restore with history kept.

2. Front Desk Management, with Kiosk Mode

Your front desk now runs on two screens. Mission Control gives the team the whole day at a glance; Kiosk Mode turns a customer-facing iPad into a self-service check-in station. Customers check themselves in by phone number, accept your terms, upload vaccinations, add a card on file, and buy a package. The moment they tap in, the appointment moves to in progress on Mission Control.

It stays secure on a shared device: a four-digit code to exit, and an idle sign-out so no one sees the last customer's details.

Two additions since launch:

  • QR quick check-in. Every pet carries a scannable ID card in the pet owner app, branded to the business they're visiting. Scan it at reception to jump straight to today's appointment.
  • A shorter path for returning clients. Confirm details and agree to your terms in a focused flow instead of full profile setup. New clients still get the complete onboarding.

3. Two extreme makeovers: the booking form & the appointment card

The two screens your team touches most both got ground-up rebuilds. Same depth, far fewer clicks.

The booking form keeps everything: Magic Availability Check finds real slots across your team, rooms and capacity and can assign staff; Quick Create drops a booking exactly where you want; several services and several pets from one household go in one appointment; package credits redeem as you book; recurring series check the whole run; and you can bulk-book by date.

The appointment card now leads with one action that changes with the status, Check in, then Check out, then Charge, so the next step is always obvious. Everything else folds into a Manage menu, and the invoice went from a wall of numbers to something you read in a second.

We also put real work into accessibility: WCAG AA contrast, keyboard focus, reduced-motion, tablet-sized touch targets, and status shown as colour, icon and word together. Daytime bookings live here; overnight stays keep their own hotel-style check-in and check-out form.

4. Grazi now runs on Claude Sonnet 5

Grazi, your AI assistant, moved onto Anthropic's newest model, the biggest jump in capability since launch. She handles messy real-world questions better, reasons over your live data across bookings, revenue, customers, pets and team, reads screenshots you share, and drafts customer messages that need less editing. Still one tap to a human whenever you want one.

5. Account Health Check

A guided review of how your account is set up and how recent bookings are running. It checks your booking-form setup, schedule and capacity, and recent booking behaviour, then flags anything worth attention in plain language with a direct link to the fix.

6. Faster money at the counter

  • Bulk charging across payment methods. Settle a batch of outstanding balances in one pass, not just saved cards.
  • Wallet Activity. Wallet & membership activity in one view, filterable by type and status.
  • Express drag mode. An optional Mission Control toggle that skips the payment review when you drag straight to Paid. Resets when you close the tab.
  • Apply package credit from the quick menu, without opening the full payment flow.

7. Revenue targets

Set daily, weekly and monthly targets and see how you're tracking at a glance. A summary ribbon on the Revenue Calendar shows today, this week and this month against target, so the whole team knows where the day stands.

8. Big releases you might have missed

If you were heads-down this winter, these landed across May and June:

  • Enterprise HQ. Run every location from one dashboard, with cross-location reporting and central billing.
  • Digital intake forms with e-signatures. Build consent & intake forms, assign them to services, and have clients sign automatically before the first visit.
  • Custom fields on pet & owner profiles. Six field types, each set to staff-only, client-visible or client-editable.
  • Mission Control & Appointments speed rebuild. Packed weeks load far faster, and drag-and-drop is finally reliable on iPad.
  • Revenue Calendar. See revenue per day instead of individual appointments.
  • Shareable page links. Every page has its own URL, so you can bookmark and share deep links and use browser back and forward.
  • Phone number sign-up. Pet owners can create an account with just a mobile number.

9. Smarter communications

  • Auto SMS booking recovery. Abandoned-booking detection now covers returning clients too, and Messaging Pro can auto-send a personalised nudge text drafted from the booking, so the drop-off recovers itself.
  • Personalised bulk SMS. Announcements merge in each client's details, so a message to hundreds still reads like it was written for one.
  • Second appointment reminder on a channel you choose, for clients who miss the first.
  • Daily & weekly recurring reminders for standing appointments, with smart suppression so a weekly regular isn't messaged about every visit.
  • SMS usage tracking so you can see exactly where your credits go.

10. Mission Control, scheduling & the front desk

  • Run Sheet view and a dedicated My Day page for team members who only need their own schedule.
  • Visual rescheduling with a preview of where an appointment will land before you confirm.
  • Bulk availability review for a whole recurring run at once, and bulk cancel of recurring instances.
  • Collapsible attention groups and service-category quick-filter chips in Mission Control.
  • Colour mode across every appointment view, and an appointment card refresh with smart photo placeholders.
  • Rich text notes that keep their formatting on the card, plus follow-on Day, Week & Month performance work.
  • Duplicate tab edit guard so two open tabs never clobber each other's changes.
  • Branded booking cards & print materials, and location tracking with a Travel map for mobile services.

11. CRM, pets & records

  • Pet activity timeline: diary notes, appointments, grooming and photos in one story.
  • Mark a pet as passed away with a sensitive, dedicated flow that preserves history.
  • Bulk edit pet details in a spreadsheet-style grid, filtered by what's missing.
  • Tags & tag filtering in pet search and bulk email.
  • Visit frequency badges on non-recurring appointments too.
  • Smarter breed search that matches on names and sorts by relevance.
  • Bulk photo removal, and CSV export for appointments and package balances.
  • A new Team Recap: an AI-written, shareable summary of the day or week, right inside your Today, This Week and Overview reports.

That's the winter round-up. You can always see the full history on the product updates page.
